(ETX Daily Up) – The world’s first school dedicated to the Metaverse profession will welcome its first promotion at the start of the 2022 academic year in Paris. Co-founders Ridouan Abagri and Olivier de Lagarde are “betting” to become the world reference when this universe is still too obscure for a large part of the population.
“Not a day goes by without news from the Metaverse”. This Friday, March 11, Riduan Abagri, co-founder of Digital College (specializing in Internet and Digital) presents Metaverse College, the world’s first school dedicated to the Metaverse profession. It will open its doors from the beginning of the 2022 academic year in the Paris-La Défense business district.
Riduan Abagri immediately demonstrates the “real” and “divisive” ambitions, as the Metaverse is still an obscure universe for a good part of the population. But the entrepreneur remains convinced that the “bet” he is making will “make the cut”. “Our goal is to lead Metaverse training in France in the short term and later in Europe and around the world,” said the co-founder.
Starting in October, the school will welcome about fifty students to Grande Arche. This “exam” campaign will start a Masters (one or two years) and Bachelors (one year) course. Next year, co-founder Riduan Abagri and Olivier de Lagarde, president of the College of Paris, will open training courses accessible from the baccalaureate diploma.
Become a meta-heritage manager or blockchain consultant
More specifically, the Master’s training will be divided into three courses: Metaverse Marketing; Cryptocurrency, NFT and Metaheritage and Metaverse product designer management. Bachelors will train project managers in artificial intelligence. These students will be the next marketing officers in the metaverse, bankers or heritage notaries in the metaverse, “metapatrimony” or even clothing designers in augmented reality.
To provide access to professional training, Metaverse College has established partnerships for its Masters with the Collège Digitale (Digital School), Ecole Conte (School of Fashion and Luxury) or Exchange College (School of Banking and Insurance).
The school also mentors its students from CAC 40 companies, virtual reality start-ups, international companies or even members of the government who will attend workshops, masterclasses or seminars. For example discussions have started with Meta Europe (formerly Facebook Europe).
The cost of training is 6,500 euros and can rise up to 10,000 euros depending on the course chosen. 90% of training will be accessible on work-study basis.
Focus on practice
Metaverse College aspires to be “a school for all,” according to Riduan Abagri. He wants these students to be able to adapt to both strategy and management, for example.
At the intersection between entrepreneurship and digital, pedagogy strongly favors practice over theory. Because by making mistakes we learn: “The goal is to practice as much as possible. You have to create, learn, fail. [l’étudiant] Going wrong, he will grow,” said Riduan Abagri.
